In the Apostle Paul's second letter to Timothy, Paul told Timothy in 2:15 that he was to study to show himself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Later, in the same letter (4:2), Paul commanded Timothy to preach the word of God and reprove, rebuke, and exhort believers...children of God.

Because of these two verses, and others that would support these ideas, it is the firm belief of GBC that it is only through the preaching of God's word that lives are changed.

While the trends of church culture seem to want to distance themselves from in-depth bible study and preaching, it is still our desire to be students of the word and have His message declared from our pulpit.
